Our chapter was founded in 1972 and was rechartered in 2024. In the early 70s, we had a small apartment-style house, but in 1978 we moved into our current chapter house, which is lot 1 in Oxford Ohio. That is when things really took off for our chapter as we became a reputable house at Miami University.
Our house, which has been nicknamed “the golden lady,” has been a staple at Miami University for years and is something we take great pride in. Going on into the 80s and 90s, we had many years of success, winning multiple Greek weeks, and winning grand chapter 3 times in 1992, 1994, and 1998.
Our recent rechartering was a monumental achievement for us as a chapter after getting off the ground in 2022, starting with just 8 members, and by our rechartering in the fall of 2024, growing to 34 active brothers.
Ohio Lambda was originally founded in May 1971 with 17 recruits. They were drawn by the prospect of being a slightly different fraternity, with the promise of no hazing, an emphasis on community service, Help Week instead of Hell Week and an opportunity to establish their own unique culture. The chapter received their charter in May 1972 with 38 charter members.
Brotherhood was developed through community service projects, social activities with other fraternities and sororities, intramural sports, dining together and cleaning up together after meals and parties.
The vision, the character of the brothers and the new and different living quarters made our chapter very desirable and continued to attract young men of good character, campus leaders and athletes.

Phi Kappa Psi is proud to offer a range of scholarship opportunities at both the national and chapter levels. These scholarships recognize academic achievement, leadership, and service, helping members stay focused on their education and future goals.
The Ohio Lambda Chapter has a scholarship committee and awards scholarships to brothers who apply and are selected, based on written criteria, using available funds from our Endowed Chapter One Fund at the Foundation.
Through national and local programs, Phi Psi provides hands-on experiences that build leadership skills, promote wellness, and support career development. From retreats and speaker series to externships and mentorship, these opportunities help members grow into capable, confident men during college and beyond.
